The first 6 weeks of the NFL season has been exciting and somewhat surprising. We have seen juggernauts from a year ago struggling thus far.

NFL Week 7 | Banker of the Week

Prediction & Analysis

We have seen teams that were average last season turn the corner to better days, and we have seen some profitable weeks, and losing weeks. I think we are finally at a point in the 2019 season where we can judge these teams on their body of work. We now turn the corner from what we thought we know, to what we actually see. So, let's make some money gentlemen.

San Francisco 49ers vs Washington Redskins

The San Francisco 49ers are the real deal. Earlier in the offseason, I wrote an NFC Win Totals article, and one of my favorites in that article was over 8.5 wins for the San Francisco 49ers. It’s week 7 and we are more than half way there. The 49ers have opened the season (5-0) and have looked phenomenal. Surprisingly, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo’s play this season has been ordinary. He has not looked locked in yet, and this team is still winning games. That is the sign of a good football team. Running backs Matt Breida, Tevin Coleman and Raheem Mostert have picked up the slack for the 49ers and set the tempo for this offense.

The best unit on this team through 6 weeks has been the defense. I thought this defense would be good, but they have over exceeded my expectations. The analytics love this defense. They have been a top 3 defense in most defensive metrics since Week 2, with no end in sight. Last week this defense held the Rams to 7 points at home, en route to 20-7 win over the defending NFC Champions, and they come into this game against Washington absolutely rolling.

The Washington Redskins have been the 2nd biggest mess in professional football. The Miami Dolphins are the only other team that has looked worse than the Redskins this season. Last weekend both teams went into their game with winless records and the Redskins managed to beat the Phins by 1 point. It has been a quarterback carousel for the Washington Redskins this season. Case Keenum started the season for this team, but since the opener, we have seen 2 other quarterbacks get opportunities in rookie Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy. This team is lost.

Most team efficiency metrics have this team 30th in offensive and 24th in defensive efficiency. I just don’t see how the Redskins can hang within 2 touchdowns against a team playing as well as the 49ers are right now. Daniel Snyder has turned this once-proud franchise into the laughing stock of the NFC. It’s time for this guy to sell the team and give the organization a chance. The 49ers coaching staff has an incredible edge in this game. Kyle Shanahan is one of the best young offensive minds in the league, and he absolutely has his way with this Redskins defense. You will not have long term success laying this many points in the NFL, you have to pick your spots if you think you have the edge. Even on the road, I think 9.5 points is a gift. Book It!

San Francisco 49ers -9.5 10/11 (-110) -Pinnacle
