King and Aspinall to shine in their 2nd round matches

World Darts Championships – 2nd Round Matches

Mervyn King v Ciaran Teehan

20th December 2019

Darts veteran Mervyn King is playing well of late and his consistency has given him the opportunity to have a bye and progress straight to the 2nd round. After recently beating Rob Cross and Dave Chisnall in the Players Championship, King will look to continue this showing into his match v Teehan.

King has been on the circuit for many years and seeing a few of the top seeds go out will give him confidence that a good performance can improve his ranking. We’re taking King to win comfortably against Teehan.

Teehan will have to play outstanding darts to compete with King, which we don’t this he is capable of doing.

Top Tip: Meryvn King (-1.5legs) to beat Ciaran Teehan at 1.95 (19/20) with William Hill

Ricky Evans v Mark McGeeney

20th December

Ricky Evans is slight favourite to defeat Mark McGeeney and this is just deserved. Evans has shown glimpses of very good darts as he defeated Glen Durrant and Ross Smith in October. McGeeney, came through a tough battle in the 1st round to defeat Matt Campbell.

This experience of the Alexandra Palace will give McGeeney huge confidence as he faces Evans in the 2nd round and give him huge belief that he can cause an upset.

This has the makings of a very close match and the feeling is that this can go all the way to a deciding set. McGeeney beat Wade in October and then run Wright very close in November so can compete at a good level.

Top Tip: Over 4.5 Sets in the match at 2.75 (7/4) with William Hill

Nathan Aspinall v Daniel Baggish

20th December 2019

Nathan Aspinall is one to watch in this tournament and can go all the way in the first quarter of the draw and face Michael van Gerwen in the quarter finals. Aspinall has performed well on the big stage before and now expectation is for him to play well in this tournament.

At 28 years old Aspinall needs to show good consistency to make it into the top 16 in the world and can deliver in his opening match of the tournament against Baggish.

Baggish came through a tough opening match against Boulton and this match against Aspinall will be a step up from the players he has been playing over in America.

Aspinall can win this match and also score the most 180s and have the highest check out.

Top Tip: Nathan Aspinall to beat Daniel Baggish, score the most 180s and have highest check out at 2.0 (Evens) with Ladbrokes
