Wade, Huybrechts, and van Gerwen to shine in 3rd round of world darts

World Darts Championships – 13th December 2019 – 1st January 2020

World Darts Championships – 3rd round match

James Wade v Steve Beaton

22nd December

James Wade comfortably entered the world darts championship with a convincing 3-0 2nd round victory and looked in good form. Wade is an experienced professional and after seeing other seeds go out at this stage, he started well and dominated from the off.

Wade was helped by his opponent’s performance, but he would have taken a lot of confidence from a victory and now faces veteran Beaton in the 3rd round.

Beaton is one of those players who is always on the fringes of causing a shock but hasn’t got the consistency to deliver. I expect Wade to comfortably win this and our top pick is the handicap.

Top Tip

1.98 (4/5) James Wade (-1.5legs) to beat Steve Beaton with Bet365

World Darts Championships – 3rd round match

Kim Huybrechts v Danny Noppert

After seeing Danny Noppert play live at Alexandra Palace in his 2nd round match I wasn’t convinced he can go much further in the tournament. He had to dig deep to beat Rydz and will need to play a lot better to beat Huybrechts in this matchup.

Huybrechts has had the extra rest and practice time and will be full of confidence by his 2nd round performance and after beating Rob Cross he can take care of Noppert.

At odds against, I believe Huybrechts has the quality to score well and also deliver on his check outs to win this match and progress further in the tournament.

Top Tip

2.25 (5/4) Kim Huybrechts to beat Danny Noppert with Betfair

World Darts Championships – 3rd round match

22nd December 2019

Michael van Gerwen v Ricky Evans

World number 1 Michael van Gerwen will have been itching to get back playing competition darts after his 2nd round match last week. He now has the chance to impose himself and play a top game and show why he is the strong favourite for the competition.

The Dutchman has seen seeds Cross and Smith go out and with Price struggling, van Gerwen wants to put on a show against Evans and enjoy a Christmas day before coming back and defending his title.

Ricky Evans will look to play with confidence but with the high scoring from van Gerwen and the relentless pressure he will put on Evans, it will be tough for him to compete.

Our play for this match is van Gerwen to win, hit the most 180’s and have the highest checkout.

Top Tip

2.1 (11/10) Michael van Gerwen to win the match, hit the most 180s and has the highest checkout with Ladbrokes
