Rogers Cup Tennis Tips Treble - Total Odds 2.94

Best odds with Betfair

Marin Cilic (14) vs Bradley Klahn (Q) - Marin Cilic to win at 1.31

Cilic has been in poor form this year as a whole which is reflected in his price against a very limited player. At 28, Klahn is an exposed player and has shown numerous times that he is limited against the elite. He is having a very poor year himself with a 6-13 main level record and has a 0-9 record versus the top 20. He’s lost 9 of his last 10 priced over 3 and 14 of his 15 sets at this price range in 2019. His one set came against 232 ranked Zapta Miralles. Cilic looked much more focused last week at the Citi Open than he has for most of 2019. He defeated two strong opponents in Copil and Auger Aliassime before losing out in a tough, high quality match to eventual finalist Medvedev. Cilic has also won 11 of his 12 matches this year priced sub 1.5 on hard courts and he looks motivated to reverse his early season form.

Matteo Berrettini vs Feliciano Lopez (Q) - Matteo Berrettini to win at 1.66

Lopez is a tricky player but at nearly 38 he is experiencing age related decline and should be outclassed by the rising young star Matteo Berrettini. The Italian has been good to bet on in 2019 with a 25% ROI and he has a great record as the favourite winning 76% of matches this season for a 16% ROI including 9 of his last 10. After a superb grass season he has taken some time off to refuel and I would expect a continuation of early season form. Lopez has played some good tennis this year but if we exclude grass and clay, his best and worst surface, and only look at hard and indoor hard he has lost 70% of his last 50 matches as underdog for a -18% ROI. The classy left hander is always a tricky opponent but when they last met it was a comfortable 6-4 6-3 victory for Berrettini and I would expect the Italian to come through in a tight, serve orientated affair once again.

Eugenie Bouchard (WC) vs Bianca Andreescu - Bianca Andreescu to win at 1.35

Andreescu struggled early in the year with a shoulder injury but looked back to health in practice this week and I would expect her to be far too strong for Bouchard. Andreescu is one of the most remarkably talented and consistent players on tour as her 50-9 record and 36% ROI over the last year implies. She has won 89% of her matches when priced as favourite this year and all 15 priced 1.2 to 1.5. Bouchard by contrast has really struggled this year with a 6-12 record and -51% ROI. She has lost all 8 of her matches as underdog in 2019 and her last 14 in a row on hard court going back over 2 years to July 2017. This is her home event but going from her 4-11 record at the event it seems the pressure does her no favours. In January this year Andreescu took Bouchard apart 6-2 6-0. Given this is her first competitive match since coming back from injury she may be a little rusty, but at most I would expect Bouchard to manage a set. It’s important to take this treble with Betfair as they return the stake even if your player retires after the first set – just in case Andreescu is not fit.
