The action continues at the Monte-Carlo Country Club with Mikhail Kukushkin and Stefanos Tsitsipas fighting for a place in the third round of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters.

Mikhail Kukushkin vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas (6)

Wednesday, April 17, Monte Carlo

Former junior world No.1 Stefanos Tsitsipas has taken the ATP Tour by storm over the last 12 months. The 20-year-old won two ATP Tour titles, reached his maiden Grand Slam semi-final at the Australian Open and became the first Greek tennis player ever to break into the Top 10. Tsitsipas will play his first clay-court tournament since the French Open in May but the Greek has a great connection with the surface. Stefanos grew up playing on clay and always feels very comfortable in the surface where he played the most over the years.

Tsitsipas will open his Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters campaign on Wednesday against Mikhail Kukushkin from Kazakhstan. The world No.42 ended a six-year drought and won his first match at the Monte-Carlo Country Club since 2012 after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Jeremy Chardy in one hour and 22 minutes. However, clay has always been Mikhail’s worst surface with the 31-year-old winning only 28.57% of the matches played throughout his career in the main draw of ATP Tour events.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

#rolexmcmasters #mccc #atptour #atptourmasters1000 #tennis🎾 #monaco🇮🇩 #montecarlo @stefanostsitsipas98 on Court Rainier III next week! ;/a> ;/a>
— ROLEX MC MASTERS (@ROLEXMCMASTERS) 8 de abril de 2019
\n"}[/]

These two players will face each other for the fourth time in their careers with Kukushkin still seeking his first win over this opponent. The bookmakers are well aware of Stefanos’ lead in their head-to-head with the Greek as the heavy favourite to win this match at 29/100 (1.29) with William Hill. Despite Kukushkin’s solid performance in the previous round, it won’t be easy for the Kazakh to overcome such a dangerous player on this surface as Tsitsipas. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to add the Greek’s -1.5 Set Handicap to your betting tips as the best value bet for this contest at 87/100 (1.87) with Pinnacle.
