Halep to play Azarenka in third-round blockbuster this Friday

Simona Halep (7) vs Victoria Azarenka

Friday, July 5, London

Two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka produced a near-flawless display to beat Ajla Tomljanovic 6-2, 6-0 and reach the third round at the All England Club. Azarenka has yet to win a title since giving birth 2016 but she’s beginning to rediscover the form that took her to No.1 in the world rankings. Despite Tomljanovic’s undeniable quality on this surface, the 29-year-old Belarusian won 64.71% of the points played on her opponent’s serve and ended the match with 15 winners to just 12 unforced errors.

Azarenka will next take on Simona Halep for a place in the second week of Wimbledon. The former world No.1 suffered an injury scare after slipping in her first-round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Halep received two medical timeouts for an over-extending ankle and although she didn’t appear to show any signs of injury during her second-round match against Mihaela Buzarnescu, the No.7 seed struggled to find her rhythm from the baseline. The former Wimbledon semi-finalist dropped serve six times and only won 53.85% of the points behind her first serve.

The bookmakers opened the odds for this game with a very interesting price for Azarenka. Nevertheless, the major value is gone by now with her price dropping around 18% since the opening odds. The Belarusian is currently available at 1.96 (24/25) with Pinnacle while Bet365 offers 1.90 (9/10) for Halep to win this match. This should be a very entertaining match between two tremendous fighters and the Over 21.5 games at 1.91 (91/100) with Betway is an interesting approach for this contest. Regarding the winners market, Azarenka has weapons to beat the Romanian on this surface but the current price is not enough for us to take her.

Tips Over 21.5 games at 1.91 (91/100) with Betway

Karen Khachanov (10) vs. Roberto Bautista Agut (23)

Friday, July 5, London

Former world No.13 Roberto Bautista Agut advanced to the third round at the All England Club for the fifth time in his career after an easy victory over Steve Darcis. The Belgian retired from their second-round match when Bautista Agut was leading 6-3, 6-3, 4-2 after one hour and 33 minutes of play. The 31-year-old doesn’t possess the typical Spanish style and hits the ball very flat from both sides, which makes him an extremely dangerous player on grass due to the low bounce of the ball.

Bautista Agut will next face Karen Khachanov this Friday on court No.2. Khachanov has enjoyed great success over the last 12 months and is making his first Grand Slam appearance as a Top 10 player at the All England Club this week. Looking now at Karen’s campaign on this event, the 23-year-old fought back from a set down to beat former Wimbledon quarter-finalist Feliciano Lopez 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 in two hours and 44 minutes.

These two players will face each other for the sixth time in their careers. Bautista Agut lads 3-2 in their head-to-head but Khachanov won their most recent encounter at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in May.

As mentioned above, Bautista Agut plays his best tennis on fast conditions and for that reason, it’s not surprising that he won all his three previous meetings against Khachanov on grass or hard court. The market is well aware of Roberto’s quality on this surface with his price dropping more than 20% since the opening odds. Betfair is currently offering 1.62 (31/50) for Bautista Agut to win this match and although we believe in a victory from the Spaniard, our suggestion is for you wait for an in-play opportunity to grab a better price on his moneyline.

Tip: Roberto Bautista Agut to win at 1.62 (31/50) with Betfair
