Pospisil underwent surgery in January to repair a herniated disk and needed almost three months to start hitting again. The 29-year-old is currently ranked outside the Top 150 but will use his protected ranking of No.73 to enter the main draw at the All England Club. Pospisil was unable to compete for more than six months, which means that he can use his protected ranking for nine tournaments or nine months.

The 2014 Wimbledon doubles champion will open his Wimbledon campaign against fellow Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime. The former junior world No.2 has enjoyed a breakthrough year and hopes to continue his run of form at the All England Club. Known as one of the most talented young players on the ATP Tour, Auger-Aliassime won 66.67% of the matches in 2019 and reached three finals this year – including one on grass at the Mercedes Open in Stuttgart.

These two players will face each other for the second time in their careers with Auger-Aliassime emerging victorious in their previous encounter at the 2018 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

The bookmakers are expecting a straightforward win from Felix with the teenager as the heavy favourite at 3/50 (1.06) with William Hill. Pospisil will play his first official match in more than six months and it’s hard to see him causing any problems to Auger-Aliassime on this match. With this in mind, our suggestion is for you to add Auger-Aliassime’s -2.5 Set Handicap to your betting tips at 63/100 (1.63) with Pinnacle as the best value bet for this contest.

Magdalena Rybarikova vs. Aryna Sabalenka (10)

Monday, July 1, London

Aryna Sabalenka will make her third main draw appearance at the All England Club and will be looking to make it past the first round in Wimbledon for the second time in her career. The 21-year-old won the 2018 WTA Newcomer of the Year award after a brilliant campaign in the second half of the season. Sabalenka continued her good form in 2019, winning her third career title at the Shenzhen Open and breaking into the Top 10 for the first time in her career. The world No.10 is one of the most powerful players on the WTA Tour and the fast court conditions on grass suit her style.

Looking now at Aryna’s draw on this event, the Belarusian will take on Magdalena Rybarikova for a place in the second round of Wimbledon. Rybarikova is a former semi-finalist at the All England Club and always a dangerous player on this event. The 30-year-old knows what to do on this surface and her backhand slice is a great weapon on grass. Nevertheless, Rybarikova is currently outside the Top 100 and only won 45.00% of the matches in 2019.

Both players enjoy the fast conditions on this surface and this should be a very entertaining match. Rybarikova has a great record in Wimbledon but it won’t be easy for the Slovak to find a solution to Sabalenka’s tremendous firepower. The Belarusian is the favourite at 11/25 (1.44) with Bet365 and this is an interesting line to add to an accumulator. Adding to this, placing a bet on Aryna’s -3 game handicap at 83/100 (1.83) with Pinnacle is also a good approach for this contest.
